Broadcom Inc. (AVGO) unveiled its Brocade X8 Directors and Brocade G820 56-port switch, marking the debut of 128G Fibre Channel technology tailored for AI-driven data centers. The Gen 8 platforms integrate quantum-resistant 256-bit encryption, addressing both performance scalability and post-quantum cybersecurity threats.

Dell, HPE, and IBM are among OEM partners slated to ship the hardware in coming quarters. The X8 Directors support 384 ports at 128G speeds, while the compact G820 switch delivers 56 ports in a 1U form factor. Broadcom shares rose 2.8% amid broader semiconductor sector Optimism ahead of Nvidia's earnings report.
